Report For Food Distribution In Ungwan Shanu And Badarawa Communities In Kaduna North Local Government Area Of Kaduna State.
Up until now, for a very long while in the country, it has been difficult for an average citizen to survive in terms of basic amenities such as feeding, clothing, and shelter. And this is for some reasons due to the ill economic situation of the country. Much more difficult and unbearable than it is for some other classes of citizens who are considered less privileged. This class of people has the impact of the economic situation harsher on them and so leaves most of them helpless, in dire need, homeless, jobless, and hungry.
It is in this cause that an initiative like Comida Aid Foundation, with the belief that “everyone deserves a meal” was birthed and designed to help provide empowerment and help cushion the effects of the impacts of economic situations, especially, hunger.
The foundation distributed food items of 3kg bags of rice to 148(74 Ungwan Shano and 74 Badarawa) most vulnerable families and indigent groups in the society underscores the commitment of Mr. Michael Peters to promote social equity and improving a lot of all Nigerians.
Objective:
• To alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable families by providing food item assistance
Activities Details
The Comida Aid Foundation team members went to Ungwan Shanu and Badarawa communities respectively on 21st Wednesday to 24th Saturday June, 2023. On getting there, they met with some community elders who came to welcome the team. The community head was also invited, and he also welcomed the team to the community.
The team lead gave an overview of Comida Aid Foundation and the objective of intervention in the community. He told them the organization aims at helping to save lives, end hunger, build love and peace using humanitarian assistance. In his words the team lead stated that the Foundation is not a religion movement nor a politically initiated or sponsored Scheme. But rather, a movement inspired and sponsored by an individual in person of Mr. Michael Peters who is committed to helping the needy and with the sole aim of spreading love, unity and saving lives.
After the team lead’s address, attendance of the participants was taken and basic personal information were retrieved from them. And then the food packages were distributed accordingly to the individuals.
A total number of 148(M31: F117) most vulnerable households received the 3kg bag of rice community members excluding the community elders and heads was recorded in both communities.
After the distribution, the participants especially the aged women expressed their gratitude and prayed for God’s blessings upon the Sponsor and the Foundation. One of the beneficiaries Mrs. Aisha (55) years old from Badarawa community, expressed her happiness for receiving food aid, and that she was in need for such items because her family hardly eats three meals a day due the current economic situation
Also, the community head expressed his gratitude. In his words, one of the community heads, stated that what the Foundation has come to do in their community is a humanitarian service contributing towards alleviating the economic hardship facing the state and nation at large. They are grateful for the assistance and donations in such a time as this that things are hard in the country due to bad leadership. He prayed God rewards the sponsor and foundation greatly and enable them to do much more. He also prayed that more people and organization who are in the position to offer such assistance to communities and emulate from the Comida Aid Foundation.
The team lead appreciated the community head, elders and community members once again for the warm welcome to the community. And also bade them farewell, saying the Foundation hopes to visit soon again.
